Nous sommes présentement dans une vague de froid polaire. Le mercure oscille autour de -20°C depuis plusieurs jours.
Est-ce que cela vous enlève toute envie d'aller à l'écurie? Il fait trop froid pour monter? Mais votre cheval apprécierait quand même votre visite. Pourquoi ne pas en profiter pour passer du temps de qualité avec votre monture et changer la routine?
C'est un bon moment pour tisser des liens. Quoi de plus agréable que de faire une longue séance de brossage, additionné d'un petit massage et de quelques étirements. Prendre le temps de bien démêler les crins avec un conditionneur et graisser ses sabots.
Si vous avez accès un manège, pourquoi ne pas faire un peu de travail au sol? Vous pouvez monter un petit parcours simple avec quelques cônes et des barres au sol. Si vous avez envie d'un défi : essayer de faire le parcours en liberté.
C'est aussi l'occasion de travailler à désensibiliser votre cheval à divers objets. Ou encore lui apprendre l'immobilité, bien pratique quand vient le temps de monter en selle.
Pour les cavaliers plus avancés, vous pouvez pratiquer vos manoeuvres latérales. Ou encore vous initiez au travail aux longues rênes. C'est une excellente façon pour vous de mieux comprendre les manoeuvres et d'analyser les forces et les faiblesses de votre cheval. Et celui-ci sera plus à l'aise sans le poids du cavalier.
Vous avez simplement envie de vous amuser. Alors on sort un ballon et on joue avec notre cheval. Vous avez envie de relaxer, on va prendre une marche. Et on termine le tout par une bonne séance de caresses et de gratouilles pour notre cheval et un bon chocolat chaud pour nous.
